Welcome and here is a little bit about me.
I am a board-certified orthopedic physical therapist and kinesiology professor in Santa Barbara, California. I specialize in the treatment of musculoskeletal pain and movement impairments through a unique combination of education, manual therapy and individually tailored therapeutic exercise.
I completed my bachelor of science (B.S.) in exercise science at Montana State University and then earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy (D.P.T.) degree at Chapman University in Southern California. I am currently completing a Doctor of Science (Sc.D.) degree in rehabilitation science at Texas Tech University where my research examines how we move and control our low back and how these movement patterns are altered when back pain is present.
I am a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
On a personal note, I am married to my beautiful wife and fellow physical therapist, Kirsten, and we have two daughters. I have always been an athlete and grew up training in martial arts (taekwondo, judo and jiu-jitsu) and gymnastics.
I hope you find my site helpful and I look forward to helping you move better and with less pain!
